“Mana” is named thus as it is the 4th houseboat the owner has bought and revamped. It has been very recently upgraded, and is one of only a handful of houseboats on Lake Kariba that has 8 en-suite cabins, making it ideal for larger groups. All the cabins are enclosed and are fully air-conditioned, with either twin or double bed set-ups. Mosquito nets can be provided upon request. All have sliding glass doors that open on to the lake, making access to the cabins either with via these doors, or the central hallway. Although all the cabins are en-suite, there is a separate shower and toilet with hand basin on the lower deck.
The middle deck is where the main entertainment area is located, being the bar, lounge, dining area and kitchen. These areas are enclosed with beautiful glass doors and windows which allow stunning views of the lake, and have full air conditioning too. Also located on the this middle deck is a splash pool and sun loungers, as well as a small separate seating area at the back of the boat.
The most upper or third deck of the houseboat has a lovely additional space for those wanting to have a better 360 degree of the lake. There are chairs, benches, tables and umbrella’s in which to relax and admire the views.
Mana houseboat is fully solar with an inverter lighting system and solar geysers, making the boat energy efficient (Please note the generator ONLY runs from 6-10pm). The inverter system will run fans and lights during the night when the generator has been turned off.
There is a fully equipped kitchen on board that uses gas and electricity. A mini ice maker is on hand for ice cubes for drinks. There is also a reverse osmosis system for those wanting to use this facility. A charcoal braai is also available, but please bring your own charcoal.
