Hersov Resort is located along the well known Power Lines Road in Kariba just about opposite Lomagundi Lakeside, with distant views of the lake. The Resort is made up of 3 self-catering chalets, which have recently been completed to a high standard. Each chalet has an open-plan kitchen, lounge and dining area.

The lounge has a lounge suite and a large flat screen TV with satellite television. The chalets all have a fully kitted out kitchen with large 6-plate gas and electric stoves, fridge-freezers, chest freezers, microwaves, coffee machines, as well as enough crockery and cutlery for each lodge. There is also a cook who can assist with your meals if you require, at no additional cost. Please just ensure you request this service. Wi-fi is complimentary at the resort.

Chalet 1 – Sleeps 4 PAX

Ideal for a small group as there are 2 double rooms with a shared bathroom. Each room has a double bed, mosquito net, fitted cupboards, side tables, a kist and air conditioner. The bathroom has a toilet, basin and shower.

Chalet 2 & Chalet 3 – Each Sleeping 6 PAX

For larger families these 2 chalets have 3 double bedrooms, with double beds in each and all have mosquito nets, fitted cupboards, side tables, a kist and air conditioners. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with bath, basin, shower and toilet. There is a separate bathroom that also has a bath and a shower, a toilet and basin. For visitors, a separate cloak room with a toilet and a basin is located near the entrance to the lounge.

Water is currently from the Municipality, with plans of a borehole being dug soon. There are 3 x 5000 litre back-up water containers. Electricity is supplied from the national grid, but in emergencies the resort has a 15KVA generator. Hot water is provided by solar geysers.

The verandahs leading off the lounges of chalets 2 and 3 have two outdoor dining areas, whereas chalet 1 has a cute picnic table. This verandah overlooks a small garden at the front of the property. The most popular feature of Hersov Resort must be the gorgeous communal swimming pool area that has a crystal clear pool, and sun loungers in which to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

The property has an electrified security fence surrounding it, for the guest’s protection against wandering wildlife, as well as a security guard. There are also 2 lock-up garages at chalets 2 & 3 for guests use. Hersov Resort is a serviced lodge so no need to bring cleaning materials or toilet paper. A maid will service and clean the lodge each morning. Check-in time is 2p.m, and check out time is 10a.m (unless arranged otherwise).

   recommends We have just had an amazing 6 nights on Tambarara houseboat organised by Heartveld Adventures.  The boat was very comfortable and the staff were excellent.  The captain, Reg, was very professional and helpful, the chef cooked delicious meals, the barman kept our drinks flowing, the cleaners left animals made from our towels on our beds at night and the guys on the tender boat were so good with the boys aged 3, 5, 7 and 9 showing them what to do and putting on worms, for us as well. Highly recommended.

   recommends The trip was all you could ask for when you want to relax and forget about the world. 

Captain Godrey and his team consisting Pilot, Chef Takesure and Silas made our stay comfortable and easy. The food was flavourful and filling. You couldn’t say no to Chef Takesure’s meals. Silas kept our cooler box ready every day because he knew we loved our drinks cold and first thing in the morning. Pilot and Captain Godfrey took us to amazing views, magical sunset cruises and helped me find all the crocodiles I was looking for.

   recommends Right from when I started researching the trip in November last year, Bryony has been an absolute star. Nothing was ever too much hassle, especially with the rigours of trying to effect payment then!

Then the houseboat in Kariba! What an amazing trip we had on the Ponty, and once again Bryony organised transfers and things on the spot, awesome and a big thank you to you and Char, the Ponty was the highlight of our Zim Epic!

I cannot recommend Bryony and Heartveld Adventures enough, was so good to meet you at Charara,
