Chilo Gorge is located in the south-east of Zimbabwe, on the boundary of one of our most remote National Parks, Gonarezhou. The 5,035 km² Gonarezhou National Park is the second largest national park in Zimbabwe, and was established in 1934 as a Game Reserve and proclaimed as a national park in 1975. Access to Chilo is either by self drive or road transfers from Harare, Bulawayo, Masvingo and Chiredzi Towns, or private air charter to their airstrip – MAHYENE – LAT-LON-S 21’13.816 – E 032’20.010.

One of the directors and part owner of Chilo is Clive Stockil, who grew up among the Shangaan tribe, and, with the community, he has created a unique environment where local cultures, wildlife and responsible tourism are all able to thrive and enrich one another. The local community at Mahenye Village have built a school, clinic and mill from income earned through tourism.

Chilo’s motto is “Inhabit the Edge of Serenity,” and the various accommodation options Chilo offers have most certainly taken this to heart. There are 3 different types of accommodation available, being:

Chilo Safari Lodge

This comprises of:

Chilo Tented Camp

This comprises of:

DINING AREA	Bar and seating area set underneath large shaded trees, or if weather dictates under canvas (6m x 4m) Solar and Kerosene lighting.
ALL INCLUSIVE TENTS	4 twin bedded tents (4m x 3,5m Meru tents)
Providing: –	Metal spring framed beds with mattress En-suite shower(hot and cold) and short drop w.c (2mx3,5m tent) Complimentary toiletries Hanging cupboard and luggage rack Private veranda and seating area Solar lighting.
MEALS	Plated meals are included (3 meals daily) All drinks, teas and coffees are included

Nhambo Self-catering Lodge

This comprises of:
