Nyamatusi Mahogany

Share this post

Nyamatusi Mahogany is located right next to African Bush Camps’ sister camp – Nyamatusi Camp, on the banks of the Zambezi River in Mana Pools National Park. Mahogany was built specifically with families in mind, as it has NO age restriction and comprises 2 luxury tented suites and 2 luxury family tented suits (with an adjoining walkway.)

As with Nyamatusi Camp, Mahogany is built on the floodplain of the mighty Zambezi River and is also an eco-conscious camp, built with all natural materials, designed to blend in with the bush. The camp is run on solar power, with a backup generator for emergencies. There is a slightly smaller main entertainment area, which also has bar facilities, a pizza oven, a fire circle and a pool. For those travelling with private guides, there are guide tents available.

Nyamatusi Mahogany is easiest accessed via private air charter to Mana Main Airstrip, which is only 1 hour 30 minutes from the capital city of Harare, or 2 hours and 30 minutes from Victoria Falls, with a 45 minute game drive transfer to camp. Guests are also able to self-drive into camp or take a boat transfer in from Chirundu.

As mentioned, Mahogany is made up of 2 luxury tented suites and 2 luxury family-tented suites. Each tent has the following amenities:

• Indoor & outdoor shower;
• Private plunge pool;
• Air conditioning;
• Private deck;
• Mini bar;
• Mosquito net & repellent;
• Charging facilities.

Nyamatusi Mahogany is booked on an all-inclusive basis, which means your payment covers your accommodation, meals, beverages, laundry, and activities. Excluded are your transfers (except by game vehicle from the Mana Main airstrip or Nyamepi), travel insurance, visa fees, flights, items of a personal nature and staff gratuities.

The activities on offer are:
• Morning or afternoon game drives;
• Walking safaris (guides are armed when walking);
• Canoeing;
• Bird watching;
• Catch and release shore fishing
• Ngwana Club for children.

*Please note – although there is no age restriction, walking and canoeing safaris are restricted to those over the age of 16.

Nyamatusi Mahogany is the ideal place to start your children’s fascination and love of the wilderness – while enjoying the comforts of home in a stunning setting.

**Please note that Nyamatusi Camp and Mahogany are closed from 06 January – 31 March due to heavy rainfalls and the migration of animals.
